Science is all around us. It is a fundamental part of everyday life and continues to change the way we live in powerful ways. Yet at the same time, it can seem hidden or else so familiar that it goes unnoticed, especially for children. We teach Science because it allows us to understand the world around us, to describe how things work and explain why things happen. It also teaches the value of: evidence; fairness; fact-based decision-making; and rational responses to what we observe in the world around us.

Just as importantly, learning Science is fun, thrilling, messy, strange, beautiful, satisfying and full of surprises!
